Timberlea - We are passionate about education for both children and adults.

Timberlea Farm is very committed to the development of all our staff.  We embarked on a Land Transformation Project in 2007 at the end of which our workers are 40% shareholders in the businesses in Ceres and Worcester.  During this project, the lack of literacy training was very evident.  At the moment we are working with Media Works (an adult education training provider) in order to provide our ABET students with quality education in Afrikaans and English Communication as well as Numeracy in Afrikaans and English.

It is very exciting to be able to use the centre for both Adult education as well as the learners at school.  The children are being assisted with their homework at the Media Centre,  they  also have access to CD's, puzzles, extra study material, computer programs, reading books etc. to ensure they get the best education possible. The children are also involved in a number of environmental projects. The children that attend the Media Centre on a regular basis get to go on fun, educational outings. To date the whole project has been sponsored by Timberlea.

The Waitrose Foundation sponsors the cost of transporting 30 children from both Kayamandi and Kylemore to the Media Centre.
